Trying out a Black-Owned Cruelty-Free Beauty Products

In February during Black History Month, I attended Remy Martin Cocktail Party which was hosted at the Hampton House, originally known as the well-known Hampton Hotel where Black Celebrities stayed during their visit to Miami-Florida in the 50s and 60s back when Miami was segregated. I connected with a few individuals while in attendance.

One individual I met owns a beauty skincare line called “Jacqs”. Jacqs is owned by a Haitian American female business owner, Barbara Jacques, who resides in Sunny South Florida like me. I received the products recently and I am super excited to try them out since I am pro- Cruelty-free! Her products contain no GMO, no parabens, no sulfates, and it is vegan for those who are Vegan Lovers, here you go! A Black-owned female boss babe offering Vegan-friendly products.

The products, I received were the Healing Face Cleanser, the revitalizing face toner, and the nourishing face moisturizer.

The Healing Face Cleanser’s goal is to refresh and purify the skin with its agents containing Moringa and Papaya. This is the first product that should be applied first to clean the skin of any impurities. Moringa helps with slowing down the process of aging, diminishing wrinkles, removes free radicals, and firms the skin. The benefits of Papaya is that not only does it contain a great source of Vitamin A and Papain Enzyme, but it also removes dead skin cells and inactive proteins, thus rejuvenating your skin.

Next would be the Revitalizing Face Toner, which aims at balancing and restoring the skin. The ingredients contained in the toner are COQ10 and Hibiscus. COQ10 produces collagen and elastin for the skin.  Hibiscus benefit can encourage an all-round fresher, younger, smoother looking complexion while removing age spots. Its natural acids present in Hibiscus allow the purification of your skin by breaking down dead skin and increasing cell turnover, and not to mention prevention of acne breakouts.

After unboxing my products, I tried them and I must say, I am loving the scents of all of them! When I applied each product, I noticed how light it feels against my skin and my face looks balanced without it seeming like my skin combination moments. I feel refreshed! Amazing products, I have to say!

Last, would be the Nourishing Face Moisturizer to assist in hydrating and soothing the skin. The main components in the moisturizer are yucca and coconut. One element in the Yucca is folic acid and there are great amounts of vitamin C that also aid in the production of collagen, the main protein in skin. The coconut reduced inflammation and heals scar wounds, which is excellent for those suffering with acne marks.
